The day will begin with the Allen County Health Commissioner, Dr. Deb McMahan presenting on Infant and Maternal Mortality. Judge Pratt presenting on the courts' role in the health of our children and youth, followed by Lieutenant Jon Bowers will discuss the ways in which the police department is working with mental health workers to improve outcomes. An hour of Ethics for Helping Professionals will occur over lunch. The afternoon will host Adult Protective Services' Adrienne Gorman explaining mandatory reporting and common circumstances faced by older adults. The day will end with the Drug & Alcohol Consortium's MaryClare Akers discussing resources available for Case Managers and Social Workers encountering patients who have Substance Use Disorder and Mental Illness.

Dear NASW Indiana Region 3 Members:

As your Region 3 Representative, I would like to formally ask all social workers in every county to consider being an agent for change by volunteering for one (1) year on the Steering Committee.
If you are interested in or have the knowledge and/or skills in any or all of the following areas:
Program development
Public relations
Policy making
Student liaison

To just name a few – we are looking for all skills, abilities and assets to have a great Steering Committee for the next year to make our region reflect our passion, fulfill our needs, and network for a stronger organization.
The workload will be about 1 to 3 hours per month. Most of the meetings will be conducted through conference calls so that we can include social workers in all of our counties.
Please reply to with your name, email, phone number, and area(s) you are interested in.
