REGION 2 NOVEMBER CEH EVENT

TOPIC: Instilling Hope in Hopeless Patients

DESCRIPTION: This panel will focus on identifying the signs of hopelessness, diagnoses/situations that can lead to it, and how to intervene to foster hope in patients.  Panelists will share practice experience working with hopeless patients from various backgrounds and their personal experiences in which they overcame strife and struggles to find hope.
Objectives:
1. Participants will increase their knowledge of the different ways depression can present (e.g. hopelessness)
2. Participants will identify risk factors for depression
3. Participants will learn techniques for inspiring hope in patients with depression or who have given up.

DESCRIPTION: With a growing senior population, the topic of how to serve seniors is becoming more prevalent. This training will offer participants:
1.  An understanding of the problems facing the geriatric population.
2.  Knowledge on how to improve the quality of life for our elderly
